The fastest driving test cancellations service
From 15,000+ reviews
If you've been using Testi — or you're deciding between Testi and TestShift — the features below are the ones that actually determine whether you get an earlier driving test. Cancellation slots vanish in minutes, so the difference between services comes down to how fast they find slots, and what happens in the seconds after one is found.
Most cancellation checkers, including the well-known Testi, work the same way at the crucial moment: they notify you that a slot exists, and then it's a race. If another learner (or another service's user) gets to the DVSA site first, the slot is gone before you've finished typing your licence number.
TestShift is the only service that reserves each found slot for 15 minutes while you decide. When your notification arrives, the slot is already being held for you — you can check your calendar, message your instructor, and accept it calmly. Once you accept, TestShift completes the exact change you approved and the DVSA confirmation email typically arrives within minutes.
Moving over takes a few minutes and doesn't affect your DVSA booking — your test stays exactly where it is until TestShift finds you something better:
Remember to cancel any subscription you hold with Testi if you no longer want it — that's done directly with them.
Can I use TestShift and Testi at the same time?
Technically yes — both act on the same DVSA booking. In practice, TestShift's slot reservation means the slot it finds is held for you, so most learners find running a second service redundant after switching.
Will switching affect my current test date?
No. Your existing DVSA booking is untouched until you accept an earlier slot. If TestShift never finds anything better (rare), you simply sit your original test.
Do I need to re-enter my details?
Yes — TestShift needs your licence number and booking reference to act on your booking, the same information every legitimate cancellation service requires. TestShift never asks for your GOV.UK password.
Since 12 May 2026, new legislation was passed meaning that only learner drivers themselves can book their driving test. TestShift never has, and never will, create a booking for you. We only ever act on a test you have already booked yourself with DVSA, and only for the exact change you manually accept.

At TestShift, we turn frustration into freedom. We know how daunting the process of booking and rebooking driving tests can be, especially amidst ever-changing schedules and unexpected circumstances. That’s why we’ve created an intuitive, simplified app to help with this process for you.
We provide you with real-time notifications about available driving test slots in the UK, ensuring you never miss an opportunity to book your preferred slot.
With TestShift, you get peace of mind and more time to focus on what really matters – preparing for your test. Embrace the easy way to manage your driving tests.
TestShift works by using a proprietary AI algorithm to check for test cancellations on the DVSA website. When a matching test is found, we reserve the slot for 15 minutes and send you a notification so you can accept or decline it. Nothing changes on your booking unless you accept.
We have a high success rate in finding earlier tests for our users. However, we cannot guarantee that we will find a test for you due to us being reliant on the DVSA website to find tests. If the DVSA website is down or no one cancels their test, we will not be able to find earlier tests for you. We will continue to check for tests until we find one for you.
TestShift has a variety of features to help you find earlier tests. These include: real-time notifications, multiple test centre selection, highly customisable availability, unlimited uses until you pass and more!

Yes. As of 12th May 2026, it is illegal for a third party to book a driving test for you. TestShift never has, and never will, create a new driving test booking for you - you must already have booked your own test with DVSA. When we find a cancellation that matches your preferences, we show it to you and wait for you to manually accept it before attempting any change, using the licence and test reference details you've provided us. You stay in control of every change to your booking.
