Since 12 May 2026, new legislation was passed meaning that only learner drivers themselves can book their driving test. TestShift never has, and never will, make an application for a driving test for you. We only ever change on a test you have already booked yourself with DVSA, and only for the exact change you manually accept.

Within a few weeks of downloading the app I was taking my test, bringing my original booking forward by months so that I could pass before my baby is born. They sent me around 10 cancellations before I accepted a perfect one, there was no shortage! I love that each cancellation slot is reserved for you for 15mins while you decide whether to accept / decline it, then once you accept it the app manages the booking change for you (which the other apps don’t!). Got my email from DVSA confirming the change within minutes. If an even earlier test date comes up you’ll still be notified so that you can change it again! 10/10!!!!

This app is fantastic, I booked my test on Monday for 31st March and today it found me a cancellation for 10th December. You can put in the dates you require for your ideal test, and it will alert you the moment one falls in that time frame! You can also add dates you’re not available for holidays etc or other exams which is very useful. Very pleased with the app, has saved many months of having to wait!

Yes this app costs a little more for the premium version but it’s worth every penny, moved my test from September to May, and offered plenty of tests this week - or even tomorrow! What this app does that the others don’t is it holds the slot for the 15 mins you get to book on the DVLA site, so no gamble after you get the notification- if you click on it with in 15 mins it is yours! Don’t buy anything else - trust me get this! Happy Learing

Booked a driving test and originally had to wait 6 months until Jan 2025. However within days of purchasing the “premium” version of this app there were tests coming up.

Once I felt ready to take my test, I managed to get a test slot 103 days earlier than my original booking.

Notifications will be sent to you and you’ll have 15 minutes to confirm or decline. If you accept then the change is made for you. This app saved me from waiting an extortionate wait!! Cannot recommend enough!!!!!!!

I never write reviews but this app deserves it. It cost £15 and it brought my test date to 13th September 2024 within 2 days. I originally had a test date for January. I have used 5 different apps and even paid for some in the last few months but this one is the best, fastest and most efficient app to date. Abuse this app while you can peeps because its so underrated how good this app is for £15. All the others are mid compared to this one.

How does TestShift work?

TestShift works by using a proprietary AI algorithm to check for test cancellations on the DVSA website. When a matching test is found, we reserve the slot for 15 minutes and send you a notification so you can accept or decline it. Nothing changes on your booking unless you accept.

How likely am I to find an earlier test?

We have a high success rate in finding earlier tests for our users. However, we cannot guarantee that we will find a test for you due to us being reliant on the DVSA website to find tests. If the DVSA website is down or no one cancels their test, we will not be able to find earlier tests for you. We will continue to check for tests until we find one for you.

When we find a cancellation that matches your preferences, we show it to you and wait for you to manually accept it before attempting any change, using the licence and test reference details you've provided us.
